From a moment to a colour palette.

The palette groups similar colours from a downsampled preview in perceptual colour space. Percentages estimate their share of visible sampled pixels; small details can be missed. Click the preview to choose a specific colour, then replace a selected palette colour or copy its HEX value. Edit palette opens the generator with your colours locked, ready for the visualizer.

Common questions

Does my image leave my device?

No. Decoding, colour sampling and palette extraction happen in your browser. Only the example image is downloaded from this site. Your uploaded image is not saved in My workspace.

How are the palette colours selected?

A small version of your image is grouped by perceptual colour similarity. The palette shows representative colours from those groups, ordered by approximate share. It is a useful starting palette, not an exact inventory of every pixel.

Can I pick an exact colour?

Click the image preview or focus it and use the arrow keys. Values come from the resized sRGB preview, so they can differ from the original file because of resizing, colour profiles and transparency. Copy the HEX value or use it to replace the selected palette colour.

What about transparent and animated images?

Mostly transparent pixels are excluded from extraction. Semi-transparent pixels are weighted by opacity. Static JPEG, PNG and WebP are supported; animated files and SVG are not supported by this tool.

What happens when I choose Edit palette?

The Palette Generator opens with your current colours locked. You can unlock individual colours, explore shades, assign preview roles and check their contrast. The image itself is not passed to the generator.
