MATH CALCULATORS

Calculator●

A little space for your everyday sums. Type, tap, work it out.

Ready when you are.0

Use +, −, ×, ÷, brackets, %, sqrt(…) and ^ for integer powers. Use a decimal point.

Calculations and history stay in this tab. They are not uploaded or saved. My workspace saves only a link to the tool.

A few things to try.

Choose an example, then press = or Enter to add it to your history.

Keyboard friendly

Enter or = calculates. Escape clears the entry. Backspace edits it. Use * for multiplication and / for division.

Percent means one hundredth

10% = 0.1, so 200 × 10% = 20. For a 10% increase, use 200 × (1 + 10%) = 220. Here, 200 + 10% = 200.1.

Keep the full answer

Ans uses the previous calculated answer before display rounding. Previewing an expression does not change Ans. Calculations with an approximate root remain marked as approximate.

Simple keys. Clear rules.

Brackets come first, then powers, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. Operations at the same level run left to right; powers associate to the right. Use × explicitly before brackets, for example 2 × (3 + 4).

Common questions

How precise are the results?

Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and integer powers use exact fraction arithmetic within size limits. The display shows up to 14 significant digits, with ≈ when rounded. Open Exact value to see the unrounded integer or fraction. Irrational square roots are numerical approximations.

How do square and square root work?

x² wraps the selected text, or the whole expression, and squares it. √ wraps it in sqrt(…). Negative square roots are outside the real numbers supported here. Powers use integer exponents from −100 to 100; fractional powers are not supported in this calculator.

What does the ± key change?

It negates the selected expression, or the whole calculation when nothing is selected. For example, 2 + 3 becomes −(2 + 3). You can also type a minus sign before a number.

What happens when I reload?

The calculation history and previous answer reset. Up to 20 completed calculations are kept in memory while the tab is open.
