How GPA is calculated

Each letter grade is worth grade points: A is 4.0, B is 3.0, C is 2.0, D is 1.0 and F is 0, with plus and minus grades in between. Multiply each course's grade points by its credits to get quality points, add them up and divide by the total credits. This calculator uses the common unweighted 4.0 scale. Schools may differ, for example on A+ or weighted honors courses.

Common questions

How do I calculate my GPA?

Multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours, add the results, then divide by the total credit hours.

How do I include my previous GPA?

Enter your previous GPA and the credits behind it. The calculator weights both by credits to give a cumulative GPA.

Is an A+ worth more than 4.0?

On this unweighted scale an A+ counts as 4.0. Some schools use 4.3, so check your school's policy.

Is my data stored?
