Dates are calculated in this browser tab and are never sent anywhere.
Dates, without the mental maths.
Months have different lengths, so counting between dates by hand is easy to get wrong. This calculator uses real calendar rules: months are counted first, then the remaining days, and an end-of-month start date such as 31 January moves to the last day of shorter months. Everything is worked out in UTC so daylight saving changes never add or remove a day.
Calculator →Common questions
Is the end date included in the count?
By default the difference is the number of nights between the dates, so 1 January to 2 January is 1 day. Tick "Count the end date too" to include both days, which is common for hotel stays, leave and project plans.
How are months added when a date does not exist?
If the result would fall on a day that does not exist, such as 31 February, the date moves to the last day of that month. Adding one month to 31 January gives 28 February, or 29 in a leap year.
Does it count public holidays as working days?
No. Working days here are Monday to Friday only, because public holidays differ by country and year. Subtract your local holidays from the result.
How is age calculated?
Age is the number of full years, months and days since the date of birth. The tool also shows the days left until the next birthday. A 29 February birthday is celebrated on 28 February in years without a leap day.
