Why time zone maths is tricky
Time zones are not simply whole-hour steps from UTC. Some are offset by 30 or 45 minutes, and many countries change their clocks for daylight saving on different dates. This tool uses your browser's built-in time zone database, so each result uses the offset that applies on the date you choose.

Does it handle daylight saving time?
Yes. The offset is looked up for the exact date you choose, so the same city can show a different difference in summer and winter.
What is UTC?
Coordinated Universal Time, the reference every time zone is measured from. It does not change with the seasons.
Why does a result say next day or previous day?
When a city is far ahead of or behind the source zone, the calendar date there can differ from the date you started with.
What if I pick a time that does not exist?
When clocks jump forward, one hour is skipped. The tool moves a skipped time to the next valid time and tells you.
