Keep this tab open while you sit. The screen stays awake where your browser allows it, and the bells are timed by your device's audio clock.

The bells and sounds are made in your browser. Nothing is sent, saved or tracked.

A simple way to start meditating

Pick a short time you can keep up, such as five or ten minutes, and sit somewhere comfortable. Let the bell mark the start, then rest your attention on the breath. When the mind wanders, which it will, notice it and come back without judging yourself. The settling time gives you a moment to get comfortable before the first bell, and interval bells can remind you to return to the breath on longer sittings. The breathing circle is a guide for paced breathing: it grows as you breathe in and shrinks as you breathe out. If you feel dizzy or uncomfortable, stop and breathe normally. This tool is for relaxation, not medical advice.

Common questions

How long should I meditate?

Start with five to ten minutes and add time slowly. A short daily sitting is easier to keep than a long one now and then.

What are interval bells for?

A soft bell every few minutes reminds you to come back to the breath. Leave the field empty if you prefer one bell at the start and one at the end.

Which breathing pattern should I use?

Box breathing and even 5-5 breathing suit focus. The 4-7-8 and 4-6 patterns have a longer out-breath, which many people find calming. Stop if any pattern feels uncomfortable.

Will the bell sound if the tab is in the background?

Usually yes, because the bells are scheduled on your device's audio clock. Some phones pause web audio when the screen locks, so keep the screen on and the tab open.

Does it use any sound files?

No. The bell, the tones and the rain, wind and ocean sounds are all generated in your browser, so nothing is downloaded or sent anywhere.

Is my practice recorded?

No. Nothing is stored, saved or sent. When you close the tab, the session is gone.
