Review every change before applying it.
The preview updates as you type. Match letter case is on by default. Turn Replace all matches off to change only the first non-overlapping match. Search and replacement are plain text, with no regular-expression syntax. Line breaks are preserved exactly.
Text Sorter →Common questions
Does it support regular expressions?
This tool searches for literal text only. Characters such as brackets, periods and asterisks are treated as ordinary characters. Replacement text such as $& or $1 is also inserted literally.
What does Match letter case do?
When enabled, Small and small are different. When disabled, matching uses JavaScript Unicode case-insensitive rules. It does not remove accents or treat German ß as ss.
Are overlapping matches counted?
No. In banana, ana matches once. With Replace all matches off, only the first match is replaced; the count still shows all non-overlapping matches.
Can I remove text or undo a change?
Leave Replace with empty to remove matches. Previewing leaves your input intact. Apply to input and Clear text each offer one-step Undo; typing a new input clears that snapshot.
