How does Bulgarian transliteration work?
Latin mode maps Bulgarian Cyrillic to Latin letters: ж → zh, ч → ch, ш → sh, щ → sht, ъ → a, ю → yu and я → ya. Word-final ия becomes ia, so София becomes sofia. This is a practical slug mapping, not a legal transliteration service.
Can I use other languages?
Keep original script preserves letters and digits from other scripts, such as Greek, Arabic and Chinese. Latin mode supports Bulgarian and common accented Latin letters; it is not a universal transliterator.
Does this produce a full URL?
No. The result is one readable path segment. Your website or browser may percent-encode Unicode characters. This tool does not check route availability, redirects or uniqueness.
What happens to punctuation and spacing?
Apostrophes are removed; other punctuation, symbols, spaces and line breaks become the chosen separator. Adjacent separators collapse and leading or trailing separators are removed.
